David Thompson joined Ascend Advisory Group (AAG) in 2011.  As a Financial Advisor, David’s mission is to help his clients and their families reach their financial goals by providing comprehensive investment advice, portfolio management, and retirement income strategies that can help build and preserve his clients’ wealth.  David believes that commitment, trust, and personalized service provide the foundation of any strong investment plan.  David is dedicated to learning about your personal goals and to working with you in order to build an investment plan focused on your specific needs.

At Ascend Advisory Group, David is backed by a seasoned team of professionals with deep knowledge and experience in the financial services industry.  Your relationship with David is supported by the entire team to offer specialized knowledge to you when needed.  With the support from the team at AAG, David is dedicated to earning and maintaining your confidence, satisfaction, and trust when it comes to your financial goals.

Prior to joining Ascend Advisory Group, David gained three years of industry experience at an independent investment firm where he worked with another financial advisor who has also since moved to join AAG as Partner.  David’s educational background includes earning his bachelor’s degree in finance from The Ohio State University.  As a Financial Advisor, David holds both the required Series 7 and Series 66 registrations needed to operate as a financial advisor for his clients.

Away from the office, David enjoys both playing and coaching ice hockey.  While in college, he played for The Ohio State University Club Team.  Since graduating, he has become an assistant coach for his old high school team, the Upper Arlington Golden Bears.  David also enjoys traveling abroad and experiencing other cultures, such as Germany, where he once lived for an extended period and has since become fluent in its language.
