Matt is dedicated to building lifelong client relationships based on honesty and integrity – providing prudent and comprehensive investment strategies specifically tailored to each client’s needs. With more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, Matt recognizes that a reputation of quality service and integrity is earned by creating satisfied and knowledgeable customers.

Prior to joining Ascend Advisory Group in 2007, Matt built his foundation of securities industry experience at several regional investment banking firms, including;  Fifth Third/The Ohio Company, The Banc Stock Group and Donnelly Penman & Partners. His duties were centered around the market making and trading of equity securities for both the client accounts and the firms’ proprietary accounts. His educational background includes graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Business from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio in 1987 with majors in both Accountancy and Finance.

Now as a Financial Advisor with Ascend Advisory Group, Matt holds several securities registrations, including his Series 4, 7, 24, 53, 55, 63, and 66. To stay current on the trends in the investment industry, Matt completed a three consecutive year executive education certificate program at the Securities Industry Institute at the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania. This program covered current thinking on the challenges in economics, finance and management facing the securities industry. With this commitment to ongoing education, Matt is able to help keep his client’s portfolios up to date with their needs and the current economic and market trends.

Away from the office Matt enjoys playing golf, running, scuba diving and taking driving vacations throughout the United States with his family. Matt resides in Upper Arlington, Ohio with his wife, Kymberly, and their two children, Andrew and Laken.
