A Few of our Favorite Things: Central Ohio Restaurants

It’s ‘patio season’ weather here in Ohio. We can’t brag in the winter when the gray overcast hangs above us, but this is Ohio’s time to shine and with our great food scene and gorgeous patios, your team at Ascend Advisory loves to get out and enjoy it all. We hope that this guide lets you plan some noshing around town on your way to your next review meeting at our office.

As a firm, we pride ourselves on the community culture we have built over the past two decades; and food and fellowship have been at the center. Our teammates add to our culture each time they collaborate to bring us together. Two teammates that are instrumental in this fellowship are Archana Springer, Senior Registered Account Administrator, and Lynne Walter, Office Receptionist & Administrative Assistant. They love our local restaurant scene and are ready to give detailed recommendations. You know Lynne as the teammate that greets you by phone and as you walk in serving up that tasty cup of coffee and chocolate Lindor truffle for your meeting. Archana, you may know from her 15 years at Ascend on our administrative team. Both Lynne and Archana are company go-tos for recommending what to check out around town. Here is a taste of their favorite spots.

Dublin area (close to AAG):

Kitchen Social (Dublin) – This is a quieter patio than the Polaris location with fire pits and beautiful landscaping. The staff is super friendly and you won’t go wrong with the eggplant meatballs!

Z Cucina- the patio is eclectic and the flowers and fun music make this a must!

Easton

Mitchell’s Ocean Club- here you are on the second story overlooking all the shoppers at Easton making this a great place for wine drinking and good conversation.

RH rooftop. The glass roof, eye-catching chandeliers, and plush greenery make this spot so amazing with the most comfortable seating. The service is excellent! We love the lobster roll!

Short North

Lincoln Social Rooftop- This is a must in the evening with the city view. It’s so beautiful with perfect patio seating. We love to enjoy the fire pit from the cushioned couches.

German Village

Barcelona – Here it feels like a tropical garden on the beautiful enclosed patio. The Spanish food is outstanding, especially the paella.

Lindey’s- you will feel like you have entered a secret garden with cozy tables and umbrellas for shade.

Bexley

The Top – If you like an older stylish crowd with great steaks, go here! This place is an institution! Their patio was added a couple of years ago and is upscale.

Old North Columbus

Understory- This place is just cool. The stone wall and colorful chairs make this so inviting. My toddler grandson loves going up the stairs & walking down the path to get here.

Olde Towne East

Gamut Biergarten – Located in cool Olde Towne East, this covered patio is enclosed with well-appointed landscaping. Good German food is available with a city vibe that feels very European.

Powell

Nocterra Brewery – Yes, it’s a brewery, but trust us, it is family-friendly! The location in Powell is next to a train track which makes for a fun atmosphere. There are picnic tables all over the large open-air space with heaters and fire pits. There is a great selection of craft beers and cocktails that you pick up inside and carry outside. They have the Ray Ray’s BBQ food truck serving up smokin’ food! Or the local charcuterie place, Sharecuterie, will deliver to you!

Local Roots – If live music is your thing, go to Powell to hang on their large patio. It is situated on a fairly busy corner in downtown Powell that provides a lively view. The restaurant serves local farm-to-table dishes.
